Concentrated in vacuo and flashed 0 to 50% ethyl acetate/hexanes. NMR confirmed product as 7-fluoro-3,4-dihydrobenzo[b]oxepin-5(2H)-one (1.58 g, 56.2% yield). Concentrated in vacuo

Heated the reaction mixture to reflux and allowed to stir overnight under nitrogen. Reaction was complete by LCMS. Diluted reaction mixture with water and extracted the product with ethyl acetate. Concentrated in vacuo and purified by flash chromatography (0 to 30% ethyl acetate/heptanes) to give 3.71 g (21.9% yield) of 1-(2-(2-bromoethoxy)-5-fluorophenyl)ethanone. Heated the reaction mixture to reflux Reaction Diluted extracted the product with ethyl acetate Concentrated in vacuo purified by flash chromatography (0 to 30% ethyl acetate/heptanes)
