The residue was dissolved in dichloromethane and purified by flash chromatography (hexane-20% ethyl acetate and hexane-40% ethyl acetate) to give N-(1,1-Dimethylethyl)-4,5-epoxy-3-oxoandrostane-17β-carboxamide (3.3 g, 66.2%) as a solid foam.
