実験手順: A 1-liter flask, standardly equipped, was charged with 331 grams of tribromophenol containing between 700 and 800 ppm of aluminum and ferric compounds, 46.5 grams of aniline and 180 grams of triphenylphosphite. After heating the mixture to 130°C., 145 ml. of propylene oxide was added at a temperature up to 155°C. After cooling, 5 grams of triethylamine was added followed by the addition of 80 ml. of propylene oxide at approximately 80°C. The mixture was then stripped of volatile materials at 80°C./1 mm. Hg to remove volatiles. There remained as residue 632.8 grams of oxypropylated product having a hydroxyl number of 170, an acid number of 1.9 and the product contained 38.5 percent bromine and 2.8 percent phosphorus. A 1-liter flask, standardly equipped After cooling followed by the addition of 80 ml at approximately 80°C was then stripped of volatile materials at 80°C. to remove volatiles

実験手順: An exemplary production process according to this invention comprises preparing an aqueous tribromophenolate solution and dripping this aqueous solution to a dispersion or solution of cyanuric chloride and tertiary amine in a non-hydrophilic solvent or adding said tertiary amine and a powder of cyanuric chloride to said aqueous solution. The preferred molar ratio of cyanuric chloride to tribromophenol is 1:2.94-3.60. Where both a tertiary amine and a phase transfer catalyst are employed, an exemplary procedure comprises preparing an aqueous tribromophenolate solution, adding a tertiary amine thereto and dripping the mixture to a solution or dispersion of cyanuric chloride and phase transfer catalyst in a non-hydrophilic solvent or adding said phase transfer catalyst, said tertiary amine and a powder of cyanuric chloride to the aqueous tribromophenolate solution. After the above dripping or addition, the reaction system is aged where necessary and the non-hydrophilic solvent is removed from the reaction system at atmospheric or subatmospheric pressure. In this manner, tris(tribromophenoxy)-s-triazine of high purity can be obtained. adding adding addition the non-hydrophilic solvent is removed from the reaction system at atmospheric or subatmospheric pressure

実験手順: In a two-liter three-necked flask, 40 g of sodium hydroxide was dissolved in 950 ml of methyl glycol at 60° C, and then 331 g (= 1 mole) of tribromophenol was stirred in, and then 189 g (= 1 mole) of o-chloromethyl benzoyl chloride was added, drop by drop, with stirring, over a period of 13/4 hours, at a reaction mixture temperature not exceeding 40° C, into the clear phenolate solution, cooled to 30° to 40° C. Stirring was then continued for one hour at room temperature; the mixture was then cooled to 0° C, the crystallizate was suction filtered and washed free of sodium chloride with water, and dried at 80° C in a vacuum drying chamber. 397 g (= 82% yield) was obtained of o-chloromethylbenzoic acid tribromophenyl ester melting at 180°-110° C. was added cooled to 30° to 40° C filtered washed free of sodium chloride with water dried at 80° C in a vacuum drying chamber

実験手順: In the production process of this invention, a highly concentrated aqueous tribromophenolate solution of not less than 50% concentration is first prepared with the aid of a non-hydrophilic solvent and this solution is added dropwise to a solution (or suspension) of cyanuric chloride containing a phase transfer catalyst in a non-hydrophilic solvent or, alternatively, the phase transfer catalyst and powdery cyanuric chloride are added to the highly concentrated aqueous tribromophenolate solution. The preferred molar ratio of cyanuric chloride to tribromophenol is 1:2.94-3.60.
