実験手順: A 5° C. solution of 1-(2-chloroethyl)-3-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)urea (0.91 g, 4.45 mmol) in THF (20 mL), under Ar, was treated with NaH (60% in mineral oil, 0.196 g, 4.89 mmol), warmed to RT and stirred for 5 h. The mixture was treated with satd. NH4Cl, extracted with EtOAc (3×) and the combined organics were washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated to dryness to afford 1-(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)imidazolidin-2-one (730 mg, 98%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ 6.76 (s, 1 H), 3.81 (q, J=9.9 Hz, 2 H), 3.43 (m, 2 H), 3.28 (m, 2 H); MS (ESI) m/z: 169.0 (M+H+).
