The reaction solution was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent removed and EtOAc (60 mL) was added. The organic layer was washed with saturated sodium bicarbonate (10 mL), water (10 mL) and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. After filtration and concentration, the residue was purified by column chromatography with 0-10% methanol in dichloromethane to provide the N-(3-(4-(5-chloro-2-methylphenyl)piperazin-1-yl)propyl)-6,6a,7,8,9,10-hexahydro-6-oxo-5H-pyrido[1,2-a]quinoxaline-3-carboxamide as white solid (6.28 g, 78%). 1HNMR (300 MHz, dmso-d6), ppm: 10.48 (s, 1 H), 8.27 (t, 1 H), 7.41 (dd, 1 H), 7.29 (d, 1 H), 7.15 (d, 1 H), 6.97 (d, 1 H), 6.96 (s, 1 H), 6.83 (d, 1 H), 3.83 (d, 1 H), 3.57 (dd, 1 H), 3.26 (q, 2 H), 2.84 (m, 4 H), 2.73 (dt, 1 H), 2.40 (t, 2 H), 2.20 (s, 3 H), 2.00 (m, 1 H), 1.83 (m, 1 H), 1.69 (m, 3 H), 1.52-1.33 (m, 3 H).
